Finnish hotel giant switches to Löfbergs Lila

From now on you can find Löfbergs Lila at your hotel. At least if it is a Finnish Scandic hotel. After careful consideration, Scandic Hotels in Finland chose to switch coffee supplier.

Coffee, both for breakfast and after dinner, is a matter of course at hotels and important for guests as well as the staff. When Scandic Hotels in Finland decided to look over its coffee supplier, the hotel chain chose to try a number of different kinds. Finally, a blindfold test was the decisive factor.

- To us, it is important that the coffee tastes good at the same time as it is farmed in a sustainable way. The coffee from Löfbergs Lila was the winner at the tastings and is eco-labelled as well as Fairtrade certified, says Marita Auramaa, purchasing manager at Scandic Hotels in Finland.

Knowledge about coffee
After a test period at two hotels acting as pilots in Helsinki, coffee from Löfbergs Lila is now served at all Scandic hotels in Finland.

- We have visited each hotel to tell more about coffee and different ways of brewing. It has been much appreciated. It is not just about getting new coffee, but also about dialogue and knowledge about coffee in a way they have not experienced before, says Leif Sjöblom, marketing manager at Löfbergs Lila.

The staff switched coffee
It is not just the hotel guests that will acquaint themselves with the coffee. The staff is also noticing a difference.

- I have heard that a lot of people have switched to Löfbergs Lila at home too. All of sudden, the coffee at work tasted better, says Leif Sjöblom.
