Press release -

Liseberg Amusement Park opens its gates for the 101st time with balloons, dance, and a possible new world record!

Swedish amusement park Liseberg today opened its gates for the 101st summer season with a grand celebration. The park welcomed guests to a premiere day filled with festivities. At the southern entrance, a special premiere party awaited, where the Liseberg rabbits greeted all children with dance, colorful balloons, and 4000 rabbit ears distributed to the young visitors.

Together with the rabbits, the first 2000 visitors counted down the seconds, and precisely at 12:00, they flooded in, officially starting the 2024 summer season. Inside the gates, guests were met with a long pink carpet adorned with balloon arches, a sea of soap bubbles, and hundreds of Liseberg staff members ready to welcome them with applause, high fives, and hugs.

Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg, expressed his excitement: “It’s absolutely fantastic to finally open the park and welcome all the happy guests. This is always an important highlight for us, but it feels even more special and significant this year.”

For families with children, the next highlight of the day was the hunt for a new record: the World’s Largest Bunny Disco. Led by the rabbits on the bunny stage, around 1000 children and adults danced together in the bunny dance.

Lotta Carlsbogård, head of seasons and events at Liseberg, shared their enthusiasm: “In honor of the premiere day, we decided to go big. The bunny disco is a genre we’ve been pioneering at Liseberg, and this time, we set the bar high with a record-breaking disco. It definitely felt like we achieved a world record!”

The summer season runs from April 20th until September 22nd.
