Liseberg's latest roller coaster Luna is is europes tallest and fastest of its kind

When Liseberg opens up for the centenary on April 22, it will do so with a complete new area in the park - Luna Park. Two new attractions, Turbo & Tempus, premiered in 2022. This year, when Liseberg celebrates its 100th anniversary, the third and largest attraction in the area, Luna, will be added and thus the area is completed.

The so-called Family Boomerang roller coaster Luna is the tallest and fastest of its kind. The train is pulled back before being launched at 68 km/h along the 242-meter-long track until it reaches the 33.5-meter-high top. The train then travels backward along the track, resulting in a ride time of about one minute.

"Luna is a roller coaster for the whole family, but at the same time, it's a pretty cool ride experience," says Daniel Lindberg, Head of Liseberg's Attraction Operations. "The ride is for those who may not be quite ready for Balder, but who would like to move on from some of the park's smaller roller coasters for children."

Lunais the final addition to the new Luna Park area, which opened in 2022 on the mountain above FlumeRide. The entire area is a tribute to amusement parks and Liseberg's history - an investment that celebrates Liseberg's 100th anniversary.

"Luna is part of Liseberg's 100th anniversary, which is also marked by the opening of Liseberg Grand Curiosa Hotel and a long series of events and concerts in the park," says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg. "We can look forward to a celebration in 2023, which will be worthy of a 100-year-old."
