Made for the sea - New marine approved encoders from Leine Linde
Leine Linde’s 700 series encoders have been approved by DNV (Det Norske Veritas) for use in marine environments. This enables customers to use certified encoders in their marine applications, which simplifies the validation process.
The encoders have an increased resilience to salt air and salt water, which makes them perfect for ships at sea, where wind and water wear extra hard and there is a risk of corrosion. In addition, the compact yet robust encoders are suitable for installation where space is limited.
“We want to provide our customers with a wider selection of encoders for maritime applications. With the DNV Marine Type Approval, Leine Linde broadens the use of the 700 series product range,” says Ludvig Hallberg, Product Engineer at Leine Linde.
DNV Marine Type Approved
The 700 series is approved by DNV to be used for ships, offshore units, high-speed vessels, and light craft. For example, the encoders are suitable for use in machinery spaces, control rooms, pump rooms, holds, and more.
“The DNV certificate guarantees the reliability and quality of the product, which means you do not need to do any additional testing or evaluation. With the 700 series, we aim to reach customers within the marine industry who want reliable products and an easy documentation process,” Hallberg concludes.
