Press release -

Kommuninvest nominated for the Environmental Objectives Award 2021

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency today announced that Kommuninvest is one of the nominees – in the category "Courage and pace" for the Environmental Objectives Award 2021. The other nominees in that category are Ragn-Sells and EasyMining as well as VA Syd. The finalists have been chosen by the jury of the Environmental Objectives Award.

Kommuninvest was selected for its contribution to the environmental objective Reduced Climate Impact.

This award was instituted by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency to reward and draw attention to ambitious and successful sustainability work which contributes to achieving Sweden's environmental objectives.

In the category "Courage and pace", a major or rapid change is rewarded, as well as work that tests new ways of reaching the environmental objectives. The aim is to show that a significant overhaul has succeeded – that it actually works.

– We are very happy and honored to have been nominated. Our move into green financing has made rapid progress. Getting this recognition now is a clear sign that we are on the right track. The reason why we have come this far is the impressive sustainability work carried out in the municipal sector. Many municipalities and regions are at the forefront of the green transition, says Tomas Werngren, CEO of Kommuninvest.

The winners of this year's Environmental Objectives Award will be presented on 6 May at the Miljömålsdagarna conference.
