Funding forecast for 2021

Press release -

Funding forecast for 2021

Kommuninvest has established its funding forecast for 2021. The volume of long-term funding (maturities longer than one year) is expected to be SEK 120-140 billion.

The new forecast is based on expected turnover of maturing loans, new lending, customer demand as well as the size and financing of the liquidity reserve at the end of the year.

Funding operations will, depending on prices and market conditions, be carried out in Kommuninvest´s strategic markets: SEK, USD and EUR. The intention is that Green Bonds will be issued in all three markets.

- We envisage that investment and borrowing volumes in municipalities and regions will continue to grow in 2021, but at a slightly lower pace than in recent years. An important factor is that strengthened Covid-19 related government support for the municipal sector currently has a dampening effect on borrowing needs, says Christian Ragnartz, Head of Debt Management at Kommuninvest.
