日立が英国で鉄道車両工場の開所式を開催
株式会社日立製作所(執行役社長兼COO:東原 敏昭／以下、日立)の英国における鉄道システム事業会社である日立レールヨーロッパ社(取締役会長兼CEO:Alistair Dormer)は、本日、英国ダーラム州ニュートン・エイクリフにおいて、総額約8,200万ポンドの費用を投じた鉄道車両工場の開所式を開催しました。新工場では、英国運輸省(以下、DfT:Department for Transport)の都市間高速鉄道計画(以下、IEP:Intercity Express Programme)向けの車両やスコットランド向け標準型近郊車両「AT-200」などの製造を予定しています。パトリック・マクローリン運輸大臣、クレア・ペリー運輸政務次官および林景一駐英国特命全権大使を含む約500名を新工場に招き、来賓のスピーチやIEP向けClass800車両の公開などが行われました。
