Press release -

Lara Gut-Behrami takes two victories into the summer break

The technical discipline events at the World Cup finals in Sun Valley round off the 2024/25 alpine ski season. Following the Super-G at the weekend, Lara Gut-Behrami also wins the Giant Slalom in the USA on Tuesday. Sara Hector finishes third, placing her third overall in this discipline. Lena Dürr takes second place in the Slalom on Thursday, Camille Rast finishes third in the overall Slalom ranking.

"Lara Gut-Behrami skied superbly in the finals. I am very pleased that she finished the season with two victories. She has seen that when everything works, anything is possible, and this is great motivation for her in the upcoming Olympics season," says HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber. "Lena Dürr's podium was also very good. She skied the second run superbly in difficult conditions, although she has often found the second run tough this season. Benjamin Ritchie's performance with his best World Cup result to date was sensational."

"It's great fun again"

Lara Gut-Behrami started the second run of the Giant Slalom in the lead. The Swiss athlete stayed in first place to secure her 48th World Cup victory, her tenth in the Giant Slalom and the first in this discipline this season. "It's great fun again, which makes it easy to ski fast. It wasn't an easy race. It was a struggle in these conditions, and I had to fight all the way to the finish line. I finished the season with two victories, I won the Crystal Globe, I came second in the overall World Cup, and I'm delighted with that. I hope that I can take this joy and this feeling into the next season," said Lara Gut-Behrami at the finish.

Sara Hector finishes third in the Giant Slalom World Cup

Sara Hector finished third on the podium in the Giant Slalom for the fourth time this season, following her victories in Killington and Kranjska Gora, and her second place in Semmering. The Swedish athlete finished third in the overall Giant Slalom ranking. World Cup points in the final Giant Slalom were also notched up by Wendy Holdener from Switzerland in seventh place, A J Hurt from the USA who was eighth, Estelle Alphand from Sweden ninth, and Stephanie Brunner from Austria in tenth place. Stephanie Brunner skied an impressive second run, clocking the second-fastest time.
