HEAD KORE Stories: Evolution of KORE
Dear partner,
The second KORE Story of the season goes live on 5 November 2021. This time we’re looking back at the most successful product launch in the history of HEAD Skis as we proudly present: Evolution of KORE
It was far from a given. Although freeride skis from HEAD had been around for a while, they never put down roots in the community. “We had tried before, but to be honest, at that time we were not a relevant brand in freeride. This was more or less the last chance for us,“ as René Harrer, Director Global Sales and Marketing Ski Division put it.
A taskforce was formed, the Freeride team summoned, and many long days of building and testing later a new ski was born. The combination of lightness and control was unprecedented and the story of KORE had begun.
And one more thing …
We also want to take this opportunity to congratulate two of the influential team riders that helped form these skis, Sam Kuch and Cole Richardson. They are not only great buddies but also recently awarded at iF3 “the Cannes of the ski world” for their efforts during the last season. Sam Kuch received the Standout Male Skier of the Year award for the CK9 Studios movie “Here Goes” and Cole Richardson reached one of his personal goals when he was awarded Breakout Skier of the Year for his performance in Matchstick Productions "The Stomping Grounds". Blank Collective’s movie "Tales from Cascadia" featuring HEAD team riders Aaron Blunck, Ian Morrison, Jordy Kidner and Cole Richardson also won the Film of the Year. To round things off, Sam Kuch was selected Male Athlete of the Year at the High Five Festival in Annecy. Big congrats everybody!
