New temporary port of call in Brønnøysund

Due to improvements to Brækkanskaia, our stops in Brønnøysund will be moved to Gårdsøya between 4th of April and 1st of June.

Repairs will be carried out on Brækkanskaia in the center of Brønnøysund this spring, as the Port Authority reports that over the years large loads have been applied from the sea side to the block wall at the back of the quay. Parts of the wall have collapsed. In connection with the survey for a new harbor building, damage has been investigated, and it proves necessary to repair the damage to secure the inner part of the quay before a new forwarding premises can be taken into use. Work on repairing the block wall will start 4thof April 2022, and from that day on we will not be able to use Brækkanskaia as a port of call in Brønnøysund. This also applies to Hurtigruten.

In the period 4th of April to 1st of June, or port of calls will be moved to Gårdsøya quay, which is located about 2 kilometers north of the center quays in Brønnøysund.

Today, the quay is primarily used for cruise ships, as well as freight and timber boats. It has also been used for stops for Havila Voyages and Hurtigruten i.e., in the event of bad weather, and we at Havila Voyages use Gårdsøya as a permanent port of call on a southbound route for refilling of natural gas (LNG).

Local taxi and bus companies have been informed about the changes and will make sure that the temporary port of call does not affect our travelers.

See attached map section of Gårdsøya quay and terminal area. Parking to be done in designated places.

Experience the Norwegian coast with the most environmentally friendly cruise company

In December 2021 Havila Voyages started sailing the most environmentally friendly ships on the Norwegian coast between Bergen and Kirkenes. We sail through narrow fjords and on the high seas, past steep mountains and weathered islets, under the Northern Lights and the midnight sun.
