Greenfood signs contract with Dagab - five-year agreement worth SEK 600 million
Greenfood has signed a five-year contract with Dagab to be a supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as rinsed, cut and preprepared products. Greenfood will start delivering goods from 1 January 2023 according to the new agreement. The total value is close to SEK 600 million.
Greenfood is one of northern Europe's largest players in sustainable and healthy food. The Group has grown strongly in recent years and is experiencing increasing demand as more and more people choose a more plant-based lifestyle, based on fruits and vegetables. Greenfood and Dagab have now announced that they have signed a new supplier agreement worth approximately SEK 600 million. The contract is a result of Dagab's acquisition of Bergendahl’s Food, to which Greenfood has previously been a supplier.
Greenfood will supply fruits and vegetables from its Daily Greens brand, but also products from its innovative Fresh-Cut range consisting of ready-prepared foods. “We have an extremely strong offer in traditional fruit and vegetables. A broad product portfolio with both locally-grown, niche and volume products. It is the breadth of our range of products, our innovative power and our knowledge of healthy food that has made Dagab choose us as a supplier,” said Ted Stenshed, CEO of Greenfood’s Fresh Produce business area.
Together they make it easier for consumers to eat healthier, more sustainable, meals
Fruits and vegetables are one of the most important sections when customers go shopping for food, and an important profile issue for grocery players who want to promote healthy and sustainable eating habits. Both Greenfood and Dagab are actively working to develop a range of healthy food and make it easier for consumers who want to eat more vegetables.
“We are pleased to be able to continue the collaboration with Greenfood and, together, develop a high-quality fruit and vegetable range for our customers,” said Daniel Månsson, category area manager for fruit, vegetables and flowers at Dagab.
In addition to traditional fruits and vegetables, Greenfood will also deliver goods from its innovative fresh-cut offering. The range consists of fresh-cut vegetables, fruits and meal solutions, all of which make it easier for people to eat healthy, varied meals while, at the same time, being a flexible alternative for those who want to save time in the kitchen.
“Greenfood makes it easier for people to eat healthier and more sustainable meals by offering healthy shortcuts. This applies to our entire range - from our digitized salad bar Picadeli - to our new food-to-go range and our preprepared fruits and vegetables,” said David von Laskowski, President and CEO of Greenfood Group.
