A playful 3D printed oasis showcases the potential of graphene-enriched cement free mortar

Materials science meets design and sustainability at Design London 2022: Graphene Flagship Partner Versarien together with award-winning designer and artist Steuart Padwick has created a 3D printed installation made of 100% cement free mortar enhanced by graphene. This innovative material is strong, reduces the carbon footprint by as much as 35% when compared with concrete, and cures quickly.

The 2D Experimental Pilot Line (2D-EPL), a project grown from the Graphene Flagship, has launched its first customisable wafer run.

2D Experimental Pilot Line offers developers the chance to test graphene-based sensors on large scale and at low cost

The 2D Experimental Pilot Line (2D-EPL), a project grown from the Graphene Flagship, has launched its first customisable wafer run. As one of five multi-project wafer (MPW) runs, this first phase targets sensor applications. Companies, universities and research institutes can include their designs as dies on joint wafers, to test their ideas for devices on a larger scale at relatively low costs.

Graphene Flagship sails into Horizon Europe

Bringing together 118 academic and industrial partners in 12 research and innovation projects and 1 coordination and support project, the Graphene Flagship initiative will continue to advance Europe’s strategic autonomy in technologies that rely on graphene and other 2D materials. The initiative, which builds on the previous 10-years of the Graphene Flagship, is funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The 2D-Experimental Pilot Line, addressing the challenges of upscaling 2D material production processes for the semiconductor industry, is another key component of the Graphene Flagship ecosystem.
