The Graphene Pavilion, organised by the Graphene Flagship, is returning to Mobile World Congress (MWC) on February 25-28, 2019, in Barcelona, Spain. The pavilion, located in NEXTech Hall 8.0 Stand 8.0K31, will showcase the progress of graphene innovation through new prototypes, connecting mobile technologies, wearables, and the internet of things.
Graphene Flagship partners produced a leading edge part for an Airbus A350 using graphene, making it thinner and lighter, and consequently reducing costs, fuel and CO₂ emissions.
The ability of graphene to add functionality to common objects has been exploited in a new product on the market: footwear with better thermal properties. Developed by Graphene Flagship partners Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Italy, in collaboration with FADEL, a leading Italian shoe company based in Tuscany.
Bringing together 118 academic and industrial partners in 12 research and innovation projects and 1 coordination and support project, the Graphene Flagship initiative will continue to advance Europe’s strategic autonomy in technologies that rely on graphene and other 2D materials. The initiative, which builds on the previous 10-years of the Graphene Flagship, is funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The 2D-Experimental Pilot Line, addressing the challenges of upscaling 2D material production processes for the semiconductor industry, is another key component of the Graphene Flagship ecosystem.
