Film review: Lawrence of Arabia (1962)

Magnificent, grandiose, tremendous and monumental are just a handful of possible adjectives that could begin to describe the American Film Institute’s 2008 choice for ‘Best Epic Film Ever’, as well as the winner of Best Picture at the 35th Academy Awards in 1963.
 
It won seven of its ten Academy Award nominations, although it required an acting giant like Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird to stand in the way of newcomer Peter O’Toole deservedly winning the Best Actor Oscar.
