PRESS INVITATION: FLF LATVIA

On October 23 and 24, the Swedish Armed Forces invites the media to visit the South Skåne Regiment and the battalion that will be deployed in Latvia as part of NATO's Forward Land Forces early next year. This troop contribution is Sweden’s first as a member of the alliance.

The FLF Latvia force consists of approximately 600 personnel and will be part of a 14 nation strong brigade led by Canada. As part of preparations, the force conduct exercises focused on various types of combat, command, logistics, medical care, and more. The Swedish Armed Forces invites the media to visit the force the following dates:

October 23
Visit Day for News Photographers
(09:00-15:00, Revingehed)

Participating photographers will have the opportunity to photograph and film exercise moments, vehicles, personnel, and more. There will be no opportunity for interviews during this day, which is why only news photographers are invited.

October 24
Visit Day for Journalists and News Photographers
(09:30-12:00, Revingehed)

Journalists, along with news photographers, will have the opportunity to conduct interviews with personnel and commanders.

- Commander of the Multinational Brigade Latvia, Colonel Cédric Aspirault (Canada)
- Commander of the 7th Brigade and the South Skåne Regiment, Colonel Lennart Widerström
- Commander of the 71st Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Henrik Rosdahl (Commander of the FLF Latvia force)
- Soldiers and officers

Several vehicle and weapon systems will be displayed during the media day.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

- Participation is subject to space availability.

- Registered participants are responsible for their own transport to and from the South Skåne Regiment.

- We recommend durable clothing and sturdy shoes during the visit.

- Additional details will be provided to registered participants prior to the event.
