Spring in Fjord Norway – For a limited time only

As winter loosens its grip, Fjord Norway awakens with blooming orchards, roaring waterfalls and crisp, fresh air. This is a short but spectacular season filled with beauty and renewal—don’t miss it!

When spring arrives in Fjord Norway, it does so with an explosion of life. After a long winter, the landscape bursts into color, scents, and sounds that awaken all your senses. The mountain peaks remain crowned with snow, while the valleys come alive with blossoming fruit orchards, powerful waterfalls, and lush green meadows. It’s a time to breathe in the fresh spring air, feel the first warm rays of sunshine on your skin, and experience nature at its most vibrant.

Spectacular natural experiences can be found both along the coast and deep within the fjords, surrounded by towering mountains and breathtaking scenery. Some of the most impressive sights are the majestic waterfalls found throughout Fjord Norway. Vøringsfossen dramatically plunges into the Måbødalen valley, while Steinsdalsfossen allows you to walk behind its cascading waters without getting wet. Langfoss, Seven Sisters, Vettisfossen, and Mardalsfossen are also stunning examples of nature’s raw power and beauty.

Spring is also the perfect season for outdoor activities. Cycling along the fjordside roads offers breathtaking views of deep blue waters and steep mountain slopes, while hiking trails lead you through lush valleys and up to scenic viewpoints with unforgettable panoramas. For the adventurous, glacier hiking on the spectacular blue ice of Nigardsbreen or Folgefonna is an experience like no other. If you prefer the water, kayaking through the narrow fjord arms brings you up close to towering cliffs and peaceful nature. And don’t forget to explore the cities of Fjord Norway—Stavanger, Bergen, and Ålesund each have their own unique charm, culture, and history. Here, you can experience the perfect blend of nature, culture, and urban life, making it a must-visit part of your journey.

Along the long-stretching fjord landscapes like the Lysefjorden, Hardangerfjorden, Sognefjorden, and Geirangerfjorden, small villages come to life after winter. Here, you can experience local traditions, meet friendly villagers, and see craftsmanship, architecture and culture passed down through generations. Spring is also the time when sheep, cows and goats are released onto lush green pastures, while apple and cherry trees bloom in a dazzling display of white and pink flowers.

For food lovers, this season offers some of the freshest flavors of the year. At local farms, you can sample freshly brewed cider, jam and products of fruit, local meat from Old Norse Sheep, and cheeses made from the milk of free-ranging cows. The stories and traditions tied to these farms are rich and diverse, giving you a unique insight into Norwegian food culture.

Along the coast, you can taste world-renowned Norwegian seafood and shellfish, which are sold to Michelin restaurants around the world.

Spring in Fjord Norway can be described as a fleeting moment of magic. But hurry—this spectacular season lasts only a few weeks before summer takes over.
