Falck to operate ambulance services throughout Region Zealand

Falck will be providing ambulance services to all people of Region Zealand. That is the consequence of a decision made by the Regional Council at its meeting held Thursday evening.

People throughout Region Zealand will continue to be served by Falck if they need an ambulance. At its meeting Thursday evening, the Regional Council decided that the region will contract with Falck for ambulance services in the geographical areas corresponding to the old counties of Western Zealand and Storstrøm. The contract will include responsibility of dispatching ambulances through the region's dispatch centre. A contract will also be entered into for operating emergency response vehicles in the entire region.

In December 2014, Falck was awarded the contract for ambulance services in what corresponds to the old county of Roskilde. Accordingly, Falck has won all sub-contracts in the Region Zealand ambulance services tender.

"We are very proud that the region has decided to cooperate with Falck for the provision of reliable, competent and profitable ambulance services to all people in the region," said Regional Director Sean Erik Bisgaard.

The new contracts come into force on 1 February 2016 and run for eight years.
