Docks Bruxsel to host international Elephant Parade art exhibition
Shopping district, Docks Bruxsel, is thrilled to announce that it will be hosting the first edition of international art exhibition Elephant Parade in Brussels; Belgium’s opportunity to see these unique, socially-conscious artworks in person.
Arriving at Docks Bruxsel on the 20thSeptember, the world’s largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues, will be on display until 4thNovember. Not only an inspiring art exhibition, Elephant Parade raises awareness for elephant conservation, supporting the Elephant Family and Friends of the Asian Elephant charities.
The 26 painted elephants have been designed by a variety of artists, including globally recognised names, such as French fashion designer Agnes B and British fashion designer Paul Smith, as well as Italian pop artist Cristiano Cascelli and Dutch visual artist Barbara Wijnveld.
The Brussels edition of this well-known international event will include two brand-new, hand-painted designs, which will remain as permanent exhibits at Docks Bruxsel. The artists behind these two new elephants will be announced soon and painting will be completed live on-site at Docks Bruxsel.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be a dedicated space where visitors can find out more about elephant conservation and the story behind the exhibition. A short documentary film will be shown and dedicated children’s art workshops will allow children to design their own miniature elephant statues. Workshop dates will be announced soon.
Shopping Center Director for Docks Bruxsel, Mathias Blot, says “We are delighted to have the Elephant Parade exhibiting at Docks Bruxsel and to be supporting such a worthy cause. The parade has been on display at so many iconic destinations all over the world and we are proud to be hosting the elephants for their first time in Brussels.”
