Press release -
DESIGN A COMMONWEALTH ELEPHANT!
To celebrate Elephant Parade’s first ever visit to Scotland, Elephant Parade today launches a competition to design a ‘Commonwealth’ Elephant, inspired by The Commonwealth Games, which the country will be hosting this year. The winning design will receive a free 30cm Elephant Parade replica of their choice from the shop, worth £250.
Elephant Parade has become well known for referencing famous people and global landmarks as some of its most memorable designs from around the world. The new Commonwealth design will be on a par with other iconic elephants, including a Chelsea pensioner, a policeman, a pirate, a Ferrari, a US president, fish and chips, Betty Boop, Mozart, a London taxi and Spiderman and more recently from the UK Tour 2014, The Robin Hood elephant which coincided with Elephant Parade’s first visit to Nottingham in January and February this year.
The deadline for entry ideas is Sunday 9th March. People can download an A4 design template from the tour website (www.intuelephantparade.co.uk) or they can pop along to the Elephant Parade shops at intu Braehead. Here they can design an A4 idea for free, or purchase an art box and paint their design on a 15cm blank elephant
