Den prisbelønnede kunstner Mohamed Bourouissa har vundet international anerkendelse for sit kritiske blik på maskulin kultur i udsatte områder

Om få uger slår Kunsthal Charlottenborg dørene op til en soloudstilling med den fransk-algeriske kunstner Mohamed Bourouissa. Han arbejder i spændingsfeltet mellem dokumentar og fiktion, og bruger bl.a. fotografi og rapmusik til at sætte fokus på samfundets periferi og konfrontere mediernes fremstillinger af unge med anden etnisk baggrund.

Internationalt anerkendt kunstner opvokset i den parisiske ”ghetto” indtager Kunsthal Charlottenborg

Kunsthal Charlottenborg er stolte af at annoncere den første soloudstilling i Skandinavien med den fransk-algierske billedkunstner Mohamed Bourouissa. Kolonialismens arv og den afledte racemæssige og socioøkonomiske ulighed er et gennemgående tema i Bourouissas værker. Udstillingen 'HARa!!!!!!hAaaRAAAAA!!!!!hHAaA!!!' er kurateret af Henriette Bretton-Meyer og åbner den 8. oktober.

Kunsthal Charlottenborg is proud to announce the first solo exhibition in Scandinavia with the French-Algerian artist Mohamed Bourouissa. The charged legacies of colonialism, and contemporary realities of racial and socioeconomic inequality, are present throughout Bourouissa’s work.

Internationally acclaimed artist Mohamed Bourouissa portrays masculine culture in disadvantaged communities

In a few weeks, Kunsthal Charlottenborg will present a solo exhibition featuring French-Algerian artist Mohamed Bourouissa. Working in the field where documentary and fiction intersect, Bourouissa uses photography, rap music and other modes of expression to call attention to the peripheries of society and challenge the mainstream media’s portrayals of young people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
