Luca Magnussen at Silverstone: High Expectations
The 15-year-old talent is set to compete this weekend in the second round of the British GB4 Championship at Silverstone — one of the young Dane’s absolute favorite circuits.
After a solid season opener at Donington last month, Luca Magnussen continues his 2025 campaign in the British junior series GB4. The second round takes place this coming weekend at Silverstone, much to the delight of the 15-year-old driver, who counts the legendary Formula 1 circuit among his favorites.
“Silverstone is one of my absolute favorite tracks on the calendar. Its layout, with long, fast corners and some pretty technical sections, suits my driving style well. I also had some good test sessions earlier this year during our preseason preparations,” says Luca Magnussen.
The Dane, who races for British outfit Fortec Motorsports with strong support from Danish meat supplier JN Meat International and SASHI Beef Lover, will face off against 23 other junior drivers. It’s the largest grid in the series’ history — and with just one second separating the top 19 drivers in the season’s first qualifying session at Brands Hatch last month, it’s also the most competitive.
Preparations for this weekend’s three sprint races have so far been successful for Magnussen, who finished Thursday’s two initial practice sessions in P10 and P7 respectively.
“I have a good feeling about this weekend, and my expectations are high, so now I just hope I can live up to them,” the young Dane adds.
The second round of the GB4 Championship takes place at Silverstone this coming weekend. Qualifying and Race 1 are scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 12:55 and 18:20 (CET), while Races 2 and 3 will go green on Sunday, April 27 at 12:10 and 18:30. All races can be watched live on YouTube.
