Alba Hurup Larsen Rookie Of The Day in Indian Formula 4

The young Danish motorsport talent excelled in the second round of the F4 Indian Championship, earning Rookie of The Day title in the streets of Chennai.

After a promising debut last weekend in Madras, Alba Hurup Larsen took another significant step forward when the second round of the F4 Indian Championship held on the street circuit in the bustling city of Chennai. Here, the 15-year-old Dane achieved a sixth and an eighth place, earning her the title of the weekend's best rookie.

"To be honest, I didn’t expect anything from this weekend at all. I am still very new to the game, and racing on a street circuit surrounded by large concrete blocks seemed pretty crazy at first. But I quickly found my rhythm, and thanks to my skilled engineer, we managed good preparation before the qualification,” says Alba Hurup Larsen.

Despite limited practice – two sessions of 10 minutes each before qualifying – Alba Hurup Larsen found enough speed to qualify ninth and eighth, respectively. She carried that speed into Sunday's two races, where the Dane got off to a great start in the first race and subsequently showed some impressive overtakes, finishing in a strong sixth place.

In the final race, Alba Hurup Larsen also made a strong impression by doing another good start and then by setting the fifth fastest lap time of the race and finishing in eighth place in an intense race.

With her sixth and eighth place on the challenging street circuit, Alba Hurup Larsen ended the second round of the F4 Indian Championship as the best rookie, which was celebrated with her career's first appearance on a Formula 4 podium.

“It has been a fantastic experience, both achieving the results on the track and coming to India and meeting a lot of new interesting people. I am incredibly proud of my progress, which I especially owe to my engineer and the rest of the team. Three weeks ago, we had no idea that I would debut in Formula 4 this year, and now I have completed two rounds of a championship and been on the podium. It’s pretty cool, and I’m pretty happy,” says Alba Hurup Larsen.
