Didriksons winter collection for children, with design elements inspired by nature and animal prints from Granelito

This winter’s specially designed children’s collection from Didriksons showcases the season’s new releases – the Snöfrid coat as well as updated winter classics such as the Polarbjörnen overall, Monte fleece jacket och Biggles hat. The collection was developed in cooperation with children’s clothing company Granelito’s designer and is based on their characteristic nature and animal prints as well as their focus on ethical sustainability – a focus also shared by Didriksons.

“Granelito has impressed us with their combination of design and their constant dedication to sustainability. That’s why we are so delighted to launch Didriksons x Granelito, this winter’s children’s collection featuring Granelito’s playful patterns that highlight both classical Nordic and colourful Peruvian elements. The prints give an entirely new and exciting expression to some of our most iconic children’s garments,” relates Jonas Collberg, designer at Didriksons.

Focus on durability gives repeated best-in-test ratings
Didriksons children’s outerwear has been a go-to choice for many families over the years. The basic idea is that the garments should permit an active life outdoors, over multiple seasons, by several users. One result of this approach is that many of the iconic garments are repeat winners of best-in-test ratings. This is achieved by working with durable materials that are more wear-resistant so that many children can enjoy the same clothing, along with innovations such as the Extend Size function that makes it possible to lengthen the legs and sleeves by one size so the garments can be used for an additional season. As always, all dyeing of Didriksons children’s clothing is toxin-free, and all padding and fur are animal-free. In the Didriksons x Granelito collection, all linings are also made using 100% recycled materials.

Snöfrid set to become a firm favourite

Sustainability and care for our environment are recurring themes in this winter’s prints, all of which echo our natural world. We see birds, winter berries and bears. One garment that is set to top the charts is this year’s new children parka, Snöfrid, which is long and warm but still offers the same freedom of movement as all other Didriksons children’s clothing. Another favourite among many families is Monte, the soft microfleece jacket that is now being additionally introduced as a onesie/fleece overall featuring Granelito prints.

Inspiration from Peru

The person behind Swedish-Peruvian company Granelito is clothing designer and illustrator Moa Sandqvist Miró-Quesada. She is driven by the desire to design ethical sustainably for future generations, which was one of the reasons the two brands decided to work together.

“Both Granelito and Didriksons aim to create children’s collections that last a long time and are passed from one generation to the next, and it was in that vision that we found one another. When I designed the print for Didriksons I wanted to spotlight that dedication, creating patterns that were as lively as they are timeless, patterns that will function both today and next year and the year after. Timelessness is a great idea that I always try to include in all my work,” says Moa Sandqvist Miró-Quesada.

The Didriksons x Granelito collection will be available in stores and at didriksons.com from September 23 this year.
