KoRo: the Veganuary edit

Post the Christmas festivities, January can be a gloomy month (especially being based in baltic Berlin!). But for us here at KoRo, it is the time when our shop really comes alive. Like flowers in spring, January is the month for our huge range of vegan products to bloom, and we hope to pass on a little of this early Springtime magic on with our Veganuary edit.

Vegan meat alternatives

We’re diving straight in there with our wide range of vegan meat alternatives that are packed full of flavour - simply cook and enjoy! As a German brand of course KoRo boasts not one, but two types of organic vegan bratwurst sausages so you can enjoy a plant based German classic, mit pommes bitte.

Plant-based ready meals are already well-known and loved on our shelves, so to add that certain KoRo twist the “chicken” and coconut curry and soy and sesame marinated 'chicken' are sold in glass jars, perfect to reuse as tupperware or salad dressing pots the next day.

More flavours in our vegan range include the juicy burger trio (choose from artichoke, aubergine, tofu and wakame or shitake mushroom and pepper), the brand new mediterranean seitan steak and the spicy Mexican or shawarma soya strips. All pack a lot in flavour and take no time to cook.

Vegan treats

Taking part in Veganuary doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in tasty treats, and KoRo’s selection of vegan snacks proves just that. The star of our vegan show is of course our vegan organic crunchy hazelnut butter with cocoa - the cooler, crunchier vegan cousin of the chocolate and hazelnut spread we all know and love.

We are known for having every flavour of energy ball possible, and our vegan cookie range isn’t too far behind; if the chocolate chip, salted caramel or walnut doesn’t take your fancy, why not try the filled peanut butter cookies or sugar-free chocolate chip biscuits.

Not a chocolate fan? Not to worry, we’re not about to suggest fruit. KoRo has a selection of gelatine-free sweets for your vegan Pic n Mix. The jelly bears and sour worms are both organic, made with fruit juice and sold in 1.5kg bags in true KoRo style.

Vegan cooking and baking

Buying vegan products is easy enough; the real challenge of Veganuary is being vegan in your kitchen at home and getting all the necessary nutrients on board. KoRo’s plant-based protein range is the perfect solution for this: a sprinkle of organic nutritional yeast on pasta, or a breakfast bowl with the soya protein crispies with 60% protein, to name a couple.

Vegan baking also comes alive at KoRo: our vegan chocolate drops with xylitol are as rich and indulgent as the real thing, containing no added sugar. The vegan egg substitute is great for vegan bakes and is sold in a powdered form for convenient storage. And the star of our plant-based baking show is of course our honey alternative. Made from tonka and apple, this runny honey can make the stickiest and sweetest of bakes.

Best wishes,
Emma from KoRo
