The DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery concept for city-center deliveries, which started as a research and innovation project, has proven hugely successful. There are already twelve zero-local-emission city-center delivery areas for non-chilled goods in the Dachser network at present, and further growth is planned: at least ten more major European cities are set to follow by 2025.

Since the beginning of the year, Dachser has added innovative smart tracking devices to 8,500 swap bodies it uses for long-distance goods transport between its European branches. This means transport containers can be tracked in real time and arrival times can be calculated precisely using the internet of things.
Successful test operations at two locations: AI-based algorithms fully automatically identify, locate, and measure all packages in the transit terminal.
This first step eliminates the need to manually scan and label packages and speeds up departure times. Going forward, it is hoped that AI will also support and optimize loading.
