Aufnahme von Aroundtown in den S&P Europe 350 ESG Index
Wie von S&P Dow Jones Indices angekündigt, wird Aroundtown ab dem 3. Mai 2021 in den S&P Europe 350 ESG Index aufgenommen. Der S&P Europe 350 ESG Index basiert auf dem S&P Europe 350 Index, zu dem Aroundtown bereits gehört. Der S&P Europe 350 Index zielt darauf ab, einen breit angelegten Marktindex bereitzustellen, der zwischen Diversifizierung der GICS-Branche und Diversifizierung der Länder ausgewogen ist und Unternehmen mit hoher Handelsliquidität und Marktkapitalisierung im Streubesitz auswählt. Für den ESG-Index wird eine weitere Auswahl getroffen, die Unternehmen aufgrund bestimmter ESG-Kriterien ausschließt. Ausgeschlossen werden Unternehmen, deren Geschäftstätigkeit in erheblichem Maße mit thermischer Kohle, Tabak und umstrittenen Waffen zusammenhängt. Ebenfalls ausgeschlossen sind Unternehmen mit niedrigen United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) -Werten und Unternehmen mit niedrigen ESG-Werten im Vergleich zu ihrer gesamten Branche, wie im S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA, vormals RobeccoSAM) ermittelt. Die Gewichtung des Index basiert auf der Marktkapitalisierung im Streubesitz. Die Aufnahme von Aroundtown folgt dem S&P Global CAS Rating von November 2020, in dem Aroundtown im 75. Perzentil unter Vergleichsunternehmen eingestuft wurde. Dies spiegelt insbesondere die führende Position von Aroundtown in Bezug auf Verhaltenskodizes und Menschenrechte wider, wo Aroundtown den Vergleichsunternehmen weit voraus ist.
Die Aufnahme in den S&P Europe 350 ESG-Index ist eine weitere Bestätigung des Engagements von Aroundtown für Nachhaltigkeit und des Fokus auf Best Practices in Bezug auf Umwelt-, Sozial- und Governance-Fragen (ESG). Zusätzlich zu seiner neuen Aufnahme ist Aroundtown bereits Bestandteil anderer wichtiger ESG-Indizes wie dem DAX 50 ESG, GPR ESG + und GPR IPCM LFFS Sustainable GRES.

Aroundtown inclusion in S&P Europe 350 ESG Index
As announced by S&P Dow Jones Indices, Aroundtown will be included in the S&P Europe 350 ESG Index, effective as of May 3rd, 2021. The S&P Europe 350 ESG Index is based on the S&P Europe 350 Index, of which Aroundtown is already a component. The S&P Europe 350 Index aims to provide a broad-based market index that is balanced between GICS industry diversification, country diversification and selects companies with high stock liquidity and free-float market cap. For the ESG index a further selection is made which excludes companies based on certain ESG related criteria. Companies whose business activities are significantly related to thermal coal, tobacco and controversial weapons are excluded. Furthermore, companies with low United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Scores and companies with low ESG scores in comparison to their overall industry, as determined by the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA, formerly RobeccoSAM), are excluded as well. The weighting of the index is based on free-float market cap. Aroundtown’s inclusion follows its S&P Global CAS rating awarded in November 2020, where Aroundtown was ranked in the 75th percentile among peers, which reflected in particular Aroundtown’s leading position in regard to Codes of Business Conduct and Human Rights, where it is well ahead of peers.
Its inclusion in the S&P Europe 350 ESG Index is further validation of Aroundtown’s commitment to sustainability and its focus on best practices related to Environmental, Social and Governance issues. In addition to its new inclusion, Aroundtown is already a component of other key ESG related indices, such as the DAX 50 ESG, GPR ESG+ and GPR IPCM LFFS Sustainable GRES.
