Click-off: new wine cultures website debuts today
Chr. Hansen invites the global wine business industry for a sip of wine ingredients expertise online.
“Chr. Hansen’s expertise in dairy cultures and enzymes is known and respected across the international dairy industry. It is a less known fact that Chr. Hansen is leading the innovative and emerging market of wine malolactic starter cultures for winemaking with our range of Viniflora® bacteria products. The key intention of the new website is to promote Chr. Hansen’s wine ingredients competences: what is our offer to the market; what is our field of expertise; how do we work,” explains Laurent Hubert, Marketing Director, Wine Cultures, Chr. Hansen.
Dedicated wine ingredients information
“We have created the wine website after a strong involvement of external partners such as distributors and customers to meet their needs spot on and to provide a website answering a wide range of requirements – always with convenience in mind. I am sure that anyone interested in wine cultures, wine production and food safety will find useful information and news there, be that winemakers, winery managers, wine ingredients purchasers, quality managers, financial managers, scientists, students, or consumers even,” says Hubert.
Visitors to the website will find news, a presentation about the multiple benefits of Viniflora®, download options of product documentation and direct access to the technical and sales contacts in their area. The website will be continuously updated with dedicated information such as podcasts about direct inoculation and online trainings and webinars about malolactic fermentation management.

The wine business is a global activity with two seasons of sales—the northern hemisphere season and the southern hemisphere season—and Chr. Hansen’s customer base is indeed global and widely spread with more than 35,000 wineries around the world. “Thus, the internet is a wonderful tool to reach wine professionals with valuable information,” Hubert comments.
