Chr. Hansen in gourmet dairy at Tivoli Gardens, Denmark

Visitors are in for a taste sensation out of the ordinary at the new micro dairy of a new gourmet house at Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Fresh organic milk milked a few hours ago, creamy yoghurts that have been given the time to develop slowly and naturally, and homemade churned butter with special sun-dried salt from France – these are just a few of the delicacies now available at the first dairy of the world famous amusement park, Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Opening on May 1, the new micro dairy is located at the gourmet house “NIMB” also gathering a gourmet restaurant run by Thomas Herman, former chef at a number Copenhagen’s most renowned restaurants; an exclusive deli shop and brasserie; an exquisite wine bar and 14 luxury hotel suites.

Only the best is good enough

Run by one of the most respected Danish producers and importers of fine foods, Løgismose, only the best raw materials get through the eye of the needle and into the dairy.
Choosing from Chr. Hansen’s collection of lactic acid bacteria - the world’s largest –the dairy manager can compose exactly the yoghurt, fresh cheese or butter he wishes, obtaining the distinctive taste the chef wants to present to his guests.
In addition to uncompromising quality Chr. Hansen’s dairy cultures ensure convenience, consistency and control in production; one of the reasons that the world-leading natural ingredients supplier was chosen for this partnership.

Pure indulgence

The enjoyment of premium meals made of handpicked raw materials and based on the finest craftsman principles is the cornerstone of the new gourmet house, and the dairy supplies the restaurants and the deli shops with fresh second-to-none homemade dairy products every day:

• yoghurt/Greek yoghurt
• soured whole milk
• butter
• buttermilk
• cottage cheese
• sour cream
• fresh milk and
• chocolate milk

Exciting new products are already being planned, for instance fruity probiotic (health promoting) whey shots.

History and innovation

"We are pleased with the possibility of demonstrating our dedication and knowledge of quality dairy products directly to the consumers. With the fantastic location in Tivoli Gardens and the emotional appeal to both Danes and foreign visitors, I believe that this partnership sets a perfect scene for telling the story about Chr. Hansen's contribution to the global dairy industry throughout more than 130 years – and what we can do to innovate it in the future," says Knud Vindfeldt, EVP Cultures and Enzymes Division.

“Moreover new micro dairy is an excellent opportunity to show our customers what the right ingredients and the right technology can do to the quality of the final product. We can get close to the production flow in a much better way than at large-scale production facilities.”

Tivoli has more than 4 million visitors every year.
