Chr. Hansen at SupplySide West: New probiotic solutions with multiple action

Mixing specific ingredients with probiotics makes good sense in a market where consumer health and wellbeing are pillars.

“Once again, we will have our US team in place when the doors open to the SupplySide West trade show on November 7,” says Chr. Hansen’s Charlotte Beyerholm, Marketing Director, Human Health & Nutrition Division. “In particular, we are looking forward to discussing the properties of our latest probiotic innovations with our US customers.

Documented ingredients
“We have built a knowledge and technological platform investigating different ingredients as possible combination ingredients with our documented probiotic strains.

When developing the combo concept we looked into important parameters such as health area and compatibility of the selected ingredients.

New probiotic product samples
“Our new probiotic chewable tablet combines Lactobacillus L. casei 431® and vitamin C and is an ideal "dual action" combination for immune support,” Charlotte Beyerholm explains.

Another example is a powder stick containing Chr. Hansen’s probiotic strain LGG® and Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS), which are solutions of salts and sugar. The new triple action product has been developed to tackle diarrhea by

• shortening the duration
• preventing dehydration or speeding up recovery
• providing support to restore the intestinal flora


The convenient product is simply dissolved in 200 ml of cold water and unlike most ORS products, it has a nice, sweet taste.

Chr. Hansen’s probiotic experts will be in place at the SupplySide West 2012 trade show on November 7-8 (booth # 19012), ready to discuss the business opportunities of visitors and share their knowledge about the probiotic market and consumer preferences.

On November 9, Chr. Hansen is sponsoring the probiotic workshop, organized by the International Probiotics Association (IPA).
