Beaujolais Nouveau – now with Chr. Hansen cultures
Viniflora LS is a new natural wine concept from Chr. Hansen, which offers a reliable and safe fermentation for quality wines.
This season, 50 million bottles of Beaujolais Primeur have taken off with Viniflora LS and will be ready for consumers all over the world on the launch date, November 16.
The Beaujolais producers work with a very tight deadline with no room for uncertainties in the production. Natural fermentations are unpredictable, risky and time-consuming and just a few undesirable organisms can completely ruin the wine and even turn it into vinegar.
”Viniflora LS is a natural easy-to use bacteria solution that gives winemakers the possibility to control the malolactic fermention process, thereby avoiding fermentation problems and resulting off-flavors,” says Sarita Bairoliya, Marketing Manager, Wine Cultures, Chr. Hansen
Natural bacteria
Chr. Hansen helps wineries throughout the world understand the implications of various micro floras in winemaking, and the benefits that can be achieved by using quality starter cultures. Viniflora LS is frozen natural bacteria, which controls malolactic fermentation. The malolactic fermentation process ensures a soft and round wine and therefore very important for making tasty wines.
"Our customers are very satisfied with the performance and quality they get from using our cultures in their Beaujolais wines. One quality-oriented customer alone bottles 10 million bottles of Beaujolais wine using our cultures," explains Nicolas Prost, Commercial Oenologist Technical Sales, South Europe, Chr. Hansen.
