Press release -

Equal pay – an important matter for Care of Sweden

Care of Sweden is working actively for equal pay. This is in part to be an attractive employer, but also to ensure the company takes advantage of the skills of its employees. The purpose of the pay survey is to detect, address and prevent unjustified pay gaps between women and men.

“Following completion of the pay survey, we are proud to announce that we have achieved equal pay at Care of Sweden. There are no unjustified pay gaps that are directly or indirectly related to gender,” says Elaine West, Chief HR Officer at Care of Sweden.

More women than men in leadership positions

The pay survey is part of Care of Sweden’s overall work involving active measures aimed at promoting equal rights and opportunities and preventing discrimination in accordance with discrimination legislation.

“Across the company, women have a median salary that is 11% higher compared to men’s median salary, and that’s simply because there are more women than men in leadership positions,” says Elaine West, Chief HR Officer at Care of Sweden.

The pay survey for 2021 was carried out in collaboration with the local union branches IF Metall and Unionen. This means that the employer and the unions together have carried out a review of structure and position and division of equal and equivalent positions.

“It’s good that all pay is being surveyed and analysed and that any measures are presented in a clear action plan. As a representative of the union, I was also pleased to be involved from the start,” says Mari Hidgård, chair of the company’s Unionen branch during the period the pay survey was carried out.
