Round-the-world sailor, ex-Google “Anti-Plastic warrior” Tanguy de Lamotte will spearhead electric boat revolution in the US

Swedish electric craft maker Candela aims to become the number one boat brand in the US. With the appointment of the well-known sailor, environmental activist and sustainability entrepreneur Tanguy de Lamotte, Candela is now establishing a base in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Candela C-8 flies on computer-guided hydrofoils, which allow for longer all-electric range at high speeds.

Candela’s electric speedboats are coming to the New Zealand market

Candela's hydrofoiling electric boats are coming to New Zealand through a partnership with local company Next Generation Boats. The first Candela C-7 speedboat is expected to arrive in early April 2022 followed by the bigger C-8 at the end of the year.

Candela C-8 flies on computer-guided hydrofoils. With a top speed of 30 knots and a cruise speed of 24 knots, it rivals fossil fuel powerboats in terms of performance while offering a whisper quiet ride and far better comfort.

First flying electric daycruiser outsells combustion engine boats - just weeks after introduction

With 60 orders soon after launch, the Swedish, hydrofoiling Candela C-8 is the first electric boat that outsells fossil fuel competitors in its segment. Thanks to underwater wings, it flies faster and has a longer range than conventional electric boats.

Candela C-8 is the first electric daycruiser with long range and high speed. Its French debut will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2022.

The ultra-efficient, foiling Candela C-8 is the first electric daycruiser that offers both long range and high speed. Candela is now entering the French market in an exclusive partnership with the market-leading recreational boat reseller Sud Plaisance. The aim is to change boating for the better on the Côte d'Azur.
