Camfil releases 2019 Sustainability Report highlighting success and initiatives contributing the sustainable development

In Camfil’s 2019 Sustainability Report all the achievements are aligned with United Nations sustainable development goals which include a commitment to ensure the ecological use of resources, and anchored with the company’s vision of advocating clear air as a human right. Our sustainable clean air solutions backed by strong R&D and innovation are protecting people, processes and the environment.

Environment, Labour, Human Rights and Anti-Corruption are four powerful pillars of Camfil’s sustainable development work. To reduce environmental footprint, our 30 global manufacturing units are developing products that have the highest filtration efficiency and lowest energy consumption, along with a goal to reduce production waste annually by 1% in relation to volume. To ensure the safe work environment, risk assessments are conducted regularly and the right protective equipment is used. Better and eco-friendly alternatives are used instead of harmful raw material at our manufacturing sites. In 2019, we have succeeded in reducing the number of chemicals used by 5 percent, and 6 chemicals have been replaced by better alternatives for humans as well as the environment.

Noteworthy projects and initiatives that are part of the report are highlighted here to provide a better understanding of our diverse product portfolio used in different applications.

A. Camfil Power Systems launched a new initiative, ‘boost to reduce’ for gas turbines that can result in reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 5 percent.

B. Molecular Contamination Control solutions are helping waste treatment plants that produce green energy by removing harmful gases, odours and hazardous corrosion from the process.

C. In Asia, Camfil is preventing street-level pollution by removing nitrogen dioxide in tunnel air filtration projects.

Camfil conducted comprehensive customer interviews as part of the customer satisfaction surveys in China, Europe, and the U.S. that demonstrated effective results regarding the importance of sustainability as a critical part of business processes. Our clean air solutions can improve employee health, increase productivity, protect critical equipment and end products from dust, corrosion and contamination that can cause downtime or permanent operation failure. We are working passionately and making breakthroughs in technology to deliver the efficient clean air solutions we need to secure a sustainable future.
