The American pop artist Keith Haring revolutionised New York’s graffiti and art scene in the 1980s with his iconic motifs. On 11 June, a grandiose work by Keith Haring will be up for auction at Bruun Rasmussen, estimated at DKK 750,000–800,000.
There was great interest in a very special – not to mention royal – work of art at Bruun Rasmussen’s Live Auction of modern art on Tuesday evening, when a painting by H.M. Queen Margrethe sold for DKK 211,200 (including buyer’s premium).
A painting by the Danish Queen, H.M. Queen Margrethe, is set to go under the hammer at Bruun Rasmussen – Part of the Bonhams Network in March. Works by the queen have featured in a number of exhibitions, both in Denmark and abroad, but it’s not every day that the opportunity arises to acquire one of them. The royal work of art is estimated at DKK 75,000–100,000.
Last December, Bruun Rasmussen sold CoBrA works for many millions of kroner – with three of them setting world records in just one evening. Bruun Rasmussen is now hoping to repeat the success when the auction house holds a magnificent themed auction for the second time, with hundreds of CoBrA works set to go under the hammer.
A valuable work of art by the Japanese avant-garde artist Atsuko Tanaka is set to go under the hammer at the Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen on 7 March with an estimate of DKK 4–6 million. The work was purchased in the 1960s at the Minami Gallery in Tokyo by a Danish couple and has remained in the ownership of the same family ever since.
