BookBeat launches in the Netherlands and Belgium

Today, BookBeat is launching in the Netherlands and Belgium. The two markets will be BookBeat’s latest additions to their list of core markets as they both have shown great potential for the years to come. The service has already been translated into Dutch and will give the Dutch-speaking users access to more than 500 000 audiobooks and e-books.

BookBeat was first launched in Sweden in 2016 and has since then grown its userbase to nearly 600 000 paying users. The Netherlands and Belgium will be BookBeat’s 9th and 10th core markets, and the launch of the two markets is taking place only two months after the successful launch of its Norwegian service.

- We are so happy to finally launch in the Netherlands and Belgium. From the beginning, we will have a dedicated Dutch team that will focus on getting this growth journey started. The team will continue to develop our offering with more Dutch premium content in the next few months and initiate marketing activities to let everyone know that BookBeat has finally launched, says Josefin Nordin, Country Manager Netherlands & Belgium at BookBeat.

The Dutch-speaking audience will find both local and international titles in the catalogue, which currently consists of more than 500 000 e- and audiobooks. It was recently announced that BookBeat has entered a distribution agreement with the Dutch market-leading publisher VBK Uitgevers, and with other on-going publisher discussions, BookBeat aims to further expand its Dutch catalogue in the upcoming months.

- When we enter a market, our long-term goal is always a leading position. The Netherlands and Belgium are no different and are a part of our extensive ambitions for our expansion journey in the upcoming years. I am very confident that the Dutch team, together with our other 130 brilliant people in the organization, will make BookBeat a top player in the Dutch regions, says Niclas Sandin, CEO at BookBeat.

Users in the Netherlands and Belgium are now able to try the service for free at bookbeat.nl and bookbeat.be.
