The use of gluten and other allergens in Food Contact Materials has been researched for decades, even though it has not been put into any larger use. But since the EU decided to ban many plastic materials, the demand and use of plant-based alternatives to plastics have literally exploded. What are the risks for coeliacs and other people suffering from allergies?
