International project association IPMA chooses Projectplace for global collaboration and project management

IPMA, The International Project Management Association, has chosen Projectplace as their global collaboration and project management tool for the next two years. The main reasons behind the decision were Projectplace’s usability and communication attributes and its ability to allow IPMA to communicate effectively across all 55 member associations.

Projectplace, the European leader in online collaboration tools, has been chosen by IPMA to enable better collaboration and communication within IPMA for the next two years. Using Projectplace will enable IPMA to work closely with its 55 member associations globally and, given that Projectplace received ISO 27001 certification for information security last year, meet IPMA’s security requirements. The tool will also provide IPMA’s internal project groups with a modern project management tool.

IPMA is recognised throughout the world as a leading authority on competent project, programme and portfolio management (PPPM). It focuses on ensuring that project management best practice is widely known and appropriately applied at all levels of both public and private sector organisations.

Areas covered when evaluating the tool were general user satisfaction, convenience and responsiveness, professionalism of the support hotline, comparison with other tools, and possibility to provide recommendations regarding Projectplace further tool development.

“We are proud to have IPMA as our customer and look forward to strengthening our relationship with them globally. Given that IPMA users have different languages and varying levels of computer skills, working with the organisation is a testament to the usability and communication support provided by our platform,” says Johan Zetterström, CEO for Projectplace.

The agreement is the latest example of positive feedback regarding the new and improved features Projectplace has launched over the past year to strengthen the company’s commitment to Social Project Management. The completely re-designed planning tool and several new social features improve collaboration, efficiency, engagement and project success in both enterprise-wide implementations and cross-organisational project teams.

Amin Saidoun, Executive Director of IPMA, says: “IPMA has looked at the various tools in place among the best performing national member associations of IPMA. We found the best solution to enable easier and more efficient ways of collaborating across all members associations. After
evaluating Projectplace it was obvious that this tool could best fulfill our needs in document and project management.”

Projectplace will participate and present in keynote sessions during the 27th IPMA World Congress in Dubrovnik, Croatia 30 September – 2 October, 2013. For information, visit http://www.ipma2013.hr/.
