Location Online webinar

Presented By Compounding Expert & Consultant, Amy Summers, PharmD, BCSCP

QleanAir Scandinavia Inc, in collaboration with The Compliance Team (TCT), a nationally recognized accreditation organization, a global provider of healthy indoor air quality and facility cleaning solutions, is hosting an educational webinar on mitigating contamination and achieving regulatory compliance in the compounding of pharmaceutical products.

Industry expert Amy Summers, PharmD, BCSCP, an independent consultant specializing in business, operations, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance matters for the compounding pharmacy and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, is the featured presenter. Dr. Summers earned her PharmD degree from the University of California San Francisco and was among the first pharmacists in the nation to earn a Board Certified Compounding Pharmacist credential. She formerly served as Managing Director of a FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility.

QleanAir’s Cyndi Peck, Vice President of Sales, West, in speaking about the webinar, commented, “Reducing contamination throughout the sterile compounding process is critical to ensuring the health and safety of patients and personnel.” People, air, facilities, equipment, and raw materials are continuously subjected to contamination from microbes. She continued, “By mitigating contamination from numerous sources, QleanAir’s cleanrooms help pharmacists and other providers maintain sterile environments, improving safety and providing an important step in achieving regulatory compliance.”

The online webinar is Thursday, August 25, 2022, from 2:00-3:00 pm EDT. Learning objectives include:

  • Understanding regulatory expectations.
  • Identifying sources and acceptable levels of microbes and implementing contamination controls.
  • Recognizing the numerous facility factors prone to contamination.
  • Implementing good facility design and layout elements to meet ISO standards consistently.
  • Policies and practices to ensure patient and provider safety through quality standards and Accreditation.

Registration, most suited for Specialty, Compounding, Infusion, and Independent Pharmacists, is available here.

The Compliance Team’s CEO/Founder, Sandra Canally, RN, noted “With the growing incidence of chronic conditions and complex new medications, our Sterile/Infusion Compounding Accreditation and Specialty Pharmacy accreditation programs include standards and tools that support the management of a complex pharmacy environment.” She stated, “Our quality standards support consistent practices that are centered on patient safety, and that ensure providers create and implement organizational actions that can be replicated and validated.” Pharmacies that receive this accreditation become Exemplary Providers® of TCT.
