The countdown is on to nominate heroic groups from across the West Midlands to receive recognition at local Cross City line stations. With less than two weeks left for entries into the Cross City Heroes competition (nominations open until 31 March) – West Midlands Railway is calling for even more communities to highlight groups who have made a real difference in their area.

Passengers reminded of changes at Stratford-upon-Avon station as £1.5m revamp gets underway
Passengers are being reminded that a £1.5m package of improvements is to ramp up at Stratford-upon-Avon station. From Monday 18 March, Network Rail, West Midlands Railway and Warwickshire County Council will increase work at the Warwickshire station to deliver a range of upgrades. These will include new waiting and seating areas, better retail facilities, accessible toilets, and cycle racks.

The Salvation Army to receive railway staff uniforms
London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway staff from across the rail network are donating old uniforms to The Salvation Army. Staff working at stations, on trains and at depots across the local rail network have been getting involved in a project to hand over redundant items of clothing to the charity.
