PHOENIX CONTACT is growing
Phoenix Contact will close the financial year 2011 with an increase of around 13 percent. This corresponds to a revenue of 1.5 billion euros and an increase of 170 million euros compared with 2010.
These positive figures were announced by the Managing Director Roland Bent. During a press conference at the Automation trade fair SPS/IPC/Drives in Nuremberg he spoke to around 60 national and international specialized editors.
The number of employees also increased in 2011. At the headquarters sites in Blomberg and Bad Pyrmont, a total of 500 new employees were hired. The permanent staff will increase worldwide by 1050 employees until the end of the year.
Growth needs space
Phoenix Contact also produces in ChinaDue to the growth of the previous year and the first half of 2011, the company needs more office space. A new building for marketing and development areas is built at the site of Blomberg. The building will offer around 5,000 square meters for around 250 employees, who will move in at the beginning of 2012.
The largest production building so far will be ready shortly at the site of Nanjing in China. More than 25,000 square meters of additional production and logistic area will provide space for growth in the next years.
In Turkey, Phoenix Contact reinforced its presence by setting up a new production company in Bursa. Since May, its 625 square meters are used to manufacture products for the Turkish market.
