One of the big themes is “Remix Art”. “Remix Art” means that all the branches within art come together, whether that be fine arts, photography, painting, literature, film.
A big aspect within “Remix Art” is digital art. Digital art is new and does not necessarily exist as such in Luxembourg. There are few artists working within this topic or subject area and as Esch2022, we want to highlight that a bit and introduce it to the public.
We have a specific location at Belval, which is our “Möllerei”, where we will showcase different exhibitions on the topic of digital art in the space of 10 months.
It is important for us at Esch2022 to bring down barriers and to be able to give people access to digital art, as these are important and difficult subjects, and to create a platform for people to actively participate, discuss, ask questions and to make this route accessible for everyone.
