The German truck manufacturer MAN sees Europe’s forestry sector as an increasingly important market. That’s why the company is exhibiting at the world-leading forestry fair Elmia Wood 2017 in the new Load & Transport area, which brings together everything to do with logistics en route from the forest to the industrial consumers.
An industry gathering with a focus on making deals
Sweden’s biggest industry event, Elmia Subcontractor, has again strengthened its position as the leading market place featuring new business deals and important discussions. “We address the industry’s key issues of today, show tomorrow’s technical possibilities and understand the power of a handshake when doing deals,” says Karla Eklund, press relations officer for Elmia Subcontractor.
A well-received new concept plus satisfied exhibitors at Elmia Agriculture 2016
Elmia Agriculture 2016 was the launch of the Swedish agriculture industry’s new national arena. The event met industry expectations and was much appreciated. “Our work to create the new national arena for agriculture has succeeded,” commented Elmia Agriculture project manager Jonas Bentving. “When the industry changes, the leading specialist fair must also develop with it.”
Tail-mounted calving alarm wins gold medal
A sensor that sends a text message when a cow is ready to calve. Mocall is one of the four gold medal winners of Elmia Agriculture Innovation Award 2016. The other three all went to John Deere. “We were at the launch in Ireland a year ago and realised it’s needed in Sweden,” explains Kristian Hårsmar, who is with the device’s Swedish importer, GGI Sweden.

Elmia Lastbil offered world premieres and a festive atmosphere
Elmia Lastbil in Jönköping, Sweden was one big party for the visiting public in sunny late-summer weather. The trade fair began with great success as Scania presented the world premiere of its new generation of trucks. “It was wonderful that Scania chose Elmia for the premiere of its new truck,” comments Annika Brandin, Business Manager of Elmia Lastbil.

The world’s largest forestry fair continues to raise the bar for international forestry fairs. A year from now it will finally be time again for Elmia Wood. This global trade fair is creating even more space than before to present all the innovations for the entire logistics chain from seedling to industry.
New manager of Elmia’s forestry fairs
Jakob Hirsmark will become the new manager of Elmia’s forestry fairs. They include the world’s biggest international forestry fair, Elmia Wood, which is held every fourth year in the forests south of Jönköping, Sweden. Jakob Hirsmark will take up his new post in February.
More efficient forest machines are shrinking the market
The Swedish market for forest machines is shrinking. That’s the conclusion of a review of the past six years’ registrations of forwarders. The average reduction is 16 percent. The manufacturers can see several reasons and the trend also applies to harvesters.
