New strategic focus causes DONG Energy to pull out of the Midtfjellet wind project in Norway

The size of DONG Energy’s portfolio of wind projects in Norway is found no longer to warrant a continued strategic focus on expansion of the Norwegian market. 

As a result of this DONG Energy has determined to pull out of the Midtfjellet onshore wind project in Norway. DONG Energy has worked together with Fitjar Kraftlag to develop the wind project since 2005 in a 50/50 partnership.

During recent years, DONG Energy has been working with the development of a significant portfolio of wind projects in a number of Northern European markets and the company now wishes to focus on these markets.

In DONG Energy's opinion, the Midtfjellet project continues with a future potential as an attractive project and the company is actively seeking a buyer who together with Fitjar Kraftlag can realise phase 1 of the project within the framework of the construction grants awarded.
