It’s full steam ahead for the 2022 Bury Trail & Rail Event!

The Bury Live Well Service is delighted to announce the return of the popular Bury Trail & Rail event on Sunday 23 October.

Free of charge, this led event takes walkers along country trail paths and through beautiful Bury parks and countryside.

Delivered in partnership with The Sunnywood Project, it begins at the ELR’s Bolton Street Station at 11am, calling at Burrs Country Park (1.5 miles), Summerseat (3.3 miles) and finishing at Nuttall Park, Ramsbottom (4.6-miles).

Walkers can choose to end their journey at any of these ELR station-stop checkpoints, allowing you to walk a distance that suits you. Once you have reached your chosen destination and checked in, you will then be handed a free ticket to ride along the ELR back to the starting point at Bolton Street Station.

Places must be booked – go to https://www.thesunnywoodproject.co.uk/event-details/trail-and-rail

Councillor Tamoor Tariq, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “This is a fantastic event which gives everyone the chance to enjoy Bury’s stunning green spaces. It’s also a great opportunity to get moving and improve your health, and enjoy making new friends and being part of a community event.”
