BAFTA Award-Winning Studio State of Play Launches South of the Circle Today
South of the Circle, the brand-new narrative adventure game from BAFTA award-winning studio State of Play (Lumino City, KAMI 2, INKS), is out now, exclusively on Apple Arcade. South of the Circle tells the story of Peter, a Cambridge academic who finds himself fighting for survival in Antarctica during the 1960’s Cold War. Lovingly crafted, South of the Circle is founded upon years of research, including a team visit to Antarctica to gather research material, create sketches, take photographs, and hand-make prints - with a striking art style inspired by mid-century screen printing.
The game features performances from a star-studded cast including Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Olivia Vinall (The Woman in White), Richard Goulding (Belgravia), Anton Lesser (Game of Thrones), Adrian Rawlins (Chernobyl), and Michael Fox (Downton Abbey). The actors’ voiceover, facial and body animation were all captured simultaneously, bringing an authentic theatrical performance rarely seen on mobile.
