Simon Hassle, Swedish songwriter, releases his first single "Now is here" featuring Chief Oren Lyons in the "Ice melting speech"

Simon Hassle, Swedish songwriter, releases his first single "Now is here" in unique collaboration with Chief Oren Lyons featuring his well-known "Ice melting speech" addressing climate change.

The collaboration between Simon and Chief Oren Lyons in the song Now is here became a reality after a performance by Simon at the Stockholm Globe Forum Congress in 2010, where Chief Lyons was in the audience. The speech is known by many as "The Ice is Melting" speech. In August 2000 Oren R. Lyons adressed the Millennium Peace Summit in the United Nations General Assembly hall. The song Now is here contributes in spreading the important message of Oren R. Lyons and the indigenous people of the world.

"Music is my language to express my deepest feelings. I feel true and present in a way that is difficult to explain, but to me singing is even easier than speaking. That's why music has become such a decisive part of me", says Hassle.

Simon Hassle started a close cooperation with the Swedish songwriter Emanuel Olsson at Cosmos Studios in 2010. They are now working on Simon's first album and the song Now is here is the first single ready to be presented to a larger audience.

About Simon Hassle

Simon Hassle (b. 1990) is a Swedish songwriter born in Stockholm. He grew up with his family in in Waxholm outside Stockholm, before moving to the city of Katrineholm.

Simon's parents claim that driving more than two hours with baby Simon in the car, was an unbearable experience as the child was constantly experimenting with different sounds that his vocal cords could produce. When he was only two years old everyone around him knew he was going to be a singer.

After primary school in music classes he entered three years preparatory education at De Geer upper secondary school in the city of Norrkoping to become a professional musician. Since leaving school Simon has been working on his career in Sweden, doing gigs at many different places. He has been quite successful, making a living from his music and participating in several TV-shows representing genres like barber shop, gospel and musical. 2009 he became the youngest member of the very well known gospel chorus "One Voice", led by Gabriel Forss.

Looking for his own musical identity, Simon started a close cooperation with the Swedish songwriter Emanuel Olsson at Cosmos Studios, early 2010. They are working on Simon's first album and the song Now is here is the first single ready to be presented to a larger audience.
