Daniel Berlin makes a guest appearance at Aquavit in New York

A week of food from Skåne begins on 1 October at the Aquavit restaurant in New York, to promote Skåne as a culinary destination. Daniel Berlin, who has been hailed around the world for his gastronomic art, will be working alongside Marcus Jernmark and his colleagues at Aquavit.

The press and selected tour operators will be invited to a Savor Skåne PR event at Aquavit on the evening of Thursday 4 October. Guests will have the opportunity to discover culinary experiences at a buffet, with an emphasis on the proximity of Skåne’s ingredients to their source.

Food is an important part of the overall travel experience, and Swedish cuisine is attracting considerable international interest. The week as a whole and the PR event are part of Tourism in Skåne’s long-term focus on the American market, in association with Visit Sweden in the US.

Daniel Berlin has achieved International Master Class status in the White Guide, and has received a great deal of attention in the international press, particularly in the UK. His restaurant in Skåne Tranås in Österlen is fully booked a long way in advance. His guest appearance at Aquavit will no doubt also open the eyes of the US media to this young chef whose restaurant is tipped to become Noma’s successor as the top exponent of Nordic cuisine.
