Träffpunkt Idrott är det nya namnet på mässan för alla som arbetar inom idrott, bad, fritid och folkhälsa. Med en bredare inriktning än tidigare hoppas man kunna skapa en ny mötesplats där fler kan vara med och diskutera framtidens hållbara lösningar för idrotts- och badbranschen.
Den rumänske litteraturkritikern och författaren Marius Chivu är förste mottagare av Bokmässans nyinstiftade Villa Martinson-stipendium. I stipendiet ingår en månads vistelse i Villa Martinson på Jonsereds Herrgård utanför Göteborg. Marius Chivu medverkar på Bokmässan i Göteborg, 26–29 september, som i år har rumänsk litteratur i fokus.
Som ett svar på den senaste tidens larmrapporter om barns och ungas sjunkande läsförmåga och läsförståelse genomför Läsrörelsen, i nära samarbete med Bokmässan, en stor satsning under parollen Plats för Barn!
Bokmässans besökare får på ett konkret vis möjlighet att sätta sig in i Dawit Isaaks mycket utsatta situation. På Internationella Torget kan den som vill tillbringa en kvart i en kopia av den fängslade journalistens cell – och på så sätt visa sin solidaritet med fängslade journalister i världen.
Nordic Outdoor, det nya eventet för äventyrssporter och utomhusaktiviteter, går 2014 parallellt med TURs publikdagar. TUR är Skandinaviens ledande mässa med inriktning på rese- turism- och mötesindustrin. Evenemangen äger rum på Svenska Mässan 21–23 mars.
Svenska Mässan Gothia Towers är norra Europas största mötesplats för helhetsupplevelser med ett unikt läge mitt i evenemangsområdet i centrala Göteborg. Mötesplatsen grundades 1918 och arrangerar och driver idag mässor, möten, hotell, restauranger och spa. Varje år välkomnas två miljoner besökare från hela världen att mötas, äta och bo hos oss.
