Pressmeddelande -

This year's nominees for 1km film at the Stockholm International Film Festival 2023

Since the start in 1990 the Stockholm International Film Festival has been distributing one of Sweden's most praised short film awards, 1 km film, to a promising director who receives a prize worth roughly 350,000 SEK to support the completion of a new short film.

Last year, the 1km was awarded to SaraKlara Hellström. 1 km film is a national short film award that has been an indicator of new talent in Swedish film with previous winners such as Ella Lemhagen, Amanda Kernell, Ninja Thyberg and John Skoog.

10 nominated participants will pitch their upcoming projects to the Swedish film industry, and have their films shown at the Stockholm International Film Festival. The nominees also get the opportunity to participate in the festival's activities and meet people from the international film industry.

The winner will be chosen at the Stockholm Film Festival's award ceremony on 17th of November. The prize corresponds to a value of 350,000 SEK from the Swedish Film Institute, Film Stockholm, Dagsljus, Fackförbundet Scen & Film, FyraK Media, and Edisen.
