Here are the nominees for the Zalando Rising Star Award 2022

For the fourteenth time in a row, the Stockholm International Film Festival is awarding a young talented actor with the Zalando Rising Star Award. The goal is to acknowledge actors early on in their career and the Festival's alumni include Alicia Vikander and Gustav Lindh. This year’s winner will be announced Friday 18th of November and will be invited to Festival de Cannes next May 2023.

- This year marks the fourth year of Zalando’s sponsorship of Stockholm International Film Festival and we are excited to celebrate the next winner of the Zalando Rising Star Award. It was a great pleasure to announce last year’s brilliant winner, Edvin Ryding, who we were also lucky to work with in our 2021 holiday campaign. We are delighted to continue to support talents in the Swedish film industry together with the Stockholm Film Festival. Just like films inspire and awake feelings in their audience, we at Zalando believe that fashion is about storytelling and inspiration. The jury for the Zalando Rising Star Award includes Head of the Jury Anna Carlson Nordqvist (previous director of Teaterförbundet Scen & Film), Lisa Rosengren Lagercrantz (Film&TV-Producenterna) and Jan Göransson (The Swedish Film Institute). This year the actors Evin Ahmad and Matias Varela also will join the jury. Evin got her breakthrough in the film Beyond Dreams (2017), a role that earned her a Guldbagge nomination for Best Actress. After the success in the Snabba Cash series in the role of Leya, she is now featured in the second season of the series. Matias had his film breakthrough in the feature film triology Snabba Cash (2010) and subsequently made his international debut in the Netflix-produced TV series Narcos (2017), and is most recently seen in the Swedish series Fartblinda (2019). 

Previous winners of the Zalando Rising Star Award are Malin Crépin (2008), Anastasios Soulis (2009), Alicia Vikander (2010), Malin Buska (2011), Nermina Lukac (2012), Adam Lundgren (2013), Julia Ragnarsson (2014), Aliette Opheim (2015), Filip Berg (2016), Gustav Lindh (2017), Alba August (2018), Celie Sparre (2019), Lancelot Ncube (2020) and Edvin Ryding (2021). Soon they will be joined by a new star representing 2022.
